I was never graced with great eyelashes. Nobody in my family has been. One of my sisters actually pays for those permanent eyelash extensions and they look pretty good. Personally, those freak me out and cost way too much to upkeep for me. I will just keep trying a new mascara every few weeks hoping that one will work miracles for my stubby little eyelashes. Oh yea, and I will keep loving my fake eyelashes.
Lately I have been reading up on reviews on L’Oreal’s new product. Since I read almost all good reviews on the product I decided to pick it up and try it out. Most I lose is the money because I really don’t have many eyelashes to loose! So after work today I went to Fred Meyer and stood in the cosmetics department debating to myself if I should shell out the $24.99 for the “starter kit” which includes the Lash Boosting Serum and the Double Extension mascara with the serum inside. Or if I should just try the mascara for $12.99 to be safe, or if I just wanted the serum for $14.99 because I am decently happy with my mascara right now. Note the decently and only that because it doesn’t make my eyelashes as long as my fake ones. I have high standards.

I eventually decided to go with just the serum for $14.99 because I really don’t need another mascara. The packaging on the product was decent, although sent some warning signs off as gimmicky. Mainly the “NEW Breakthrough Treatment” n the front of the box. But it claims that “with daily use BOOST natural lash health.” We will see how this works for me, because I often tend to completely forget to do stuff I need to do every morning. Like moisturize my face. And prime it. I will often catch myself so tired that I am just putting concealer and foundation on and forgetting everything else. No idea why, have been doing it all my life. Anyway, the back of the package reads:
L’Oreal introduces new Concentrated Lash Boosting Serum, our first-ever eyelash serum, with revolutionary pro-keratine complex technology to boost natural lash health with daily use.
With continued use, lash health improves. Lashes appear:
Fortified
Nourished
Strengthened
Cool. Just to make this one thing clear: This product will not cause new hair to grow, but it will condition your lashes and strengthen the ones you already have. It also delivers nutrients to them to help encourage them to be thick, lush and beautiful. It was probably meant for people like me who where born with stringy, short and easily breakable lashes.
On to the use of the product…
To Use: Apply at night on bare lashes, or during the day under your mascara.
Start with a clean, dry eye area. Using the curve of the Soft-Touch Applicator, sweep serum onto lashes from root to tip, like a mascara.
Next, glide the applicator tip along the upper lash line, like an eyeliner. Allow serum to dry before applying your mascara.
For best results, use twice a day: before applying your favorite L’Oreal Paris mascara, and again at bedtime.
They also noted that the product is Ophthalmologist and allergy tested, suitable for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers, and that it is not intended for use on the lower lash line.
I also just want to note that I have not tried this product out yet, I am just posting this as information so far, and a starting point. I will take pictures of my lashes tonight after I remove my makeup and post them tomorrow. That will be my starting point of this product. I will do a full review after 4 full weeks of using this product.
Initial thoughts on it are good (before applying). I will let you know tomorrow what I think of it too. The applicator tip is quite soft to the touch, the product does not smell and it feels almost like a primer to me. Foundation primer at least. I would call it a thin gel-like consistency. I will update with more tomorrow!
